About me

Hi, I’m Pascal Müller, a professional game programmer based in Karlsruhe, Germany.
With over 10 years of development experience, including 7 years specialized in the Unreal Engine (C++ and Blueprints), I focus on gameplay mechanics, Editor tools and performance optimization. If you want to develop awesomegames, I’m your man!

Lost Ember

Mooneye Studios

Role: Co-Founder, Main Developer

Lost Ember is a third-person exploration adventure in which players can control various animals with different movement styles and mechanics to explore a vast world and unravel the mystery of humanity’s demise. The game features 16 different animals.

As one of the founders of the studio, I was involved every step of the way, from the initial idea to the final release. Some of the key features I have worked on include:

  • Camera control and movement mechanics for various animals such as birds, fish, wombats and buffalo
  • AI of all NPC’s using C++ and behavior trees
  • Flocking behaviour for birds, using a modified boid algorithm
  • Performance optimisation with Unreal Profiler/Insights and Intel profiling tools
  • Implementation of achievements for Steam, PS4 and Xbox
  • Additional Tasks: testing, bug fixing, animation graph setup and UI/menu implementation
